The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (p.G.D.M.), became independent in 1991 following the breakup of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It is the mainland of the central Balkans, located in southeastern Europe. Located between Serbia, Albania, Greece and Bulgaria, occupies a total area of ​​25,333 sq. km (land: 24,856 sq km, water: 477 sq km), has a total population of 2,066,718 inhabitants and famous tourist attraction in the country is Lake Ohrid in the west border with Albania.

Ohrid hosts many attractions in the main: Statue of Cyril and Methodius, Saint Panteleimon (Memorial) Auditorium Ohrid Church Saint Kliment, Church St. John at Kaneo (Monument), Church of Hagia Sophia and the Fortress of Samuil.
